And these...?

He came home from school that first day saying that third grade was his favorite grade ever! I hope this year lives up to it.
Third grade was my favorite grade in elementary school, too. Mr. Judd was my teacher. This was back in the day when teachers could have parties at their house without everybody assuming they were murderers or child molesters (which I would actually assume about any teacher who did that now, I'm sorry to say). We had some serious good times at Mr. Judd's house parties. He taught us about money, times tables, and most importantly, how to be nice to each other. I think often about the Valentine's Day in third grade when I wrote a mean message to one of the not-so-cool kids in my class. Mr. Judd took me out into the hall, and didn't yell or berate, but told me how he had been like this kid when he was younger (what? Mr. Judd wasn't always cool?), and how much this kid was hurt by the note. Even now I cringe with shame when I think about it. I wrote the kid a note telling him how sorry I was and asking him if he wanted to play with me and my friends at recess. He inspired us think about more than ourselves, which was pretty hard to do when we were 8. Thanks Mr. Judd.
Good luck in third grade, buddy. I hope you learn as much as I did.

Yeah! Good luck, or rather, may you receive all of the blessings that are waiting for you as you start and finish your third-grade-class... I hope you like it as much as your mom did (though, you don't have Mr. Judd as your teacher and the state and most parents wouldn't allow you to go over to your teacher's "house party"!).
You'll still love it though, and learn so much more than we ever did (quantity-wise at least!).
I'm proud of you Squirt!!!
Dad
I had tears reading that post - so sweet.
There must be something magic about 3rd grade. It was one of my favorite years. Mr. Judd sounded pretty good. I hope it's a great year for Addison and I'm glad there were no tears for either of you!
Oh how I remember those days of sending my kids off to the first day of school and Some days (crazy days) I want to go back and do it all over again. Oh to be so involved and important again.
Crazy to think our little ones are in 3rd grade! WOW. Now as I am thinking of it I almost cry. Such a bitter sweet thing isn't it. Congrats on the no tears and best wishes for a great year from Maddie.
So is it wrong that neither Sydney nor I shed a tear dropping her off at kindergarten?! And that I did want to cry but that was because she had broken my camera and all the other moms were taking pictures and I couldn't? And that I love all day kindergarten??!!
We're in Omaha, NE. For just a couple more weeks and then off to Japan. By the way, I love reading your posts, you always give me a good chuckle.
What a sweet post. I wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you for taking Evie last night. You really helped take my stress level down a notch by me not having to worry about her. I must say you have great taste, just love that background! (i have the same one)I have to admit I'm with Kaelee, I didn't cry when Spencer started kindergarten. I did get a little emotional but no tears. I did cry when he started preschool though.
