Addison's New Haircut

Tom took Addison outside to buzz his hair, like he's done before, and when Addison came back in, he looked like this. Addison loved it. I told him he could probably keep it until he was baptized. We'll see.

Shooting Hoops

Addison loves to practice "shooting hoops", as he calls it. He and his friend (our neighbor) Jamie took advantage of the beautiful weather, and played basketball on the deck all afternoon.

Addison likes to gear up with the head and wrist bands that Linda, Steve, and Brei gave him for his birthday last year. Thanks guys!

High School Musical!

One of the things that I love about this place is that there is always something to do. In Carmel there are several theaters, and we always say we are going to go see something, and never do. BUT... when High School Musical came, of course, we had to go. The cast was made up of local high school kids, and they did a great job. Addison had the time of his life.

Addison wanted Troy's autograph, but didn't want to get his picture taken. Troy talked him into it, and Addison was stoked! He was such a nice kid. He talked to Addison and told him he went to the same elementary school that Addison goes to now.
By the way, I saw Troy the next day at Jamba Juice, and he still impressed. He opened the door for his mom, and chatted politely with her friends.

They made posters and t-shirts identical to the real HSM merchandise with the kids from Carmel.

Addison's Field Trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium

On February 1st, the second graders took a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We've been there a few times, but it is always exciting. It is a huge aquarium that where you can spend hours and not see it all.

You can sit "under a wave". I don't really know how it works, but you sit under a window and a wave comes crashing over your head. It's really loud and smells like the ocean.

Sundance Film Festival 2008

Ellen and I worked at Sundance again this year. Her friend has an empty house in Park City where we stayed for most of the time. Our friends Mike and Gina stayed with us and it was such a blast. We saw some great movies and heard some great music. We saw Ingrid Michaelson and AM (our new friend) at the Music Cafe. We also saw Patti Smith play at a party! Of course, lots of celebrities were wandering around. Addison was most impressed that I saw Alan Rickman (Snape), who really was pretty scary.

January Rain Storm

At the beginning of January, we had a week of really severe rainstorms. It knocked out power and closed schools. On the worst day of the storm, both Addison and I had our schools cancelled. Addison spent a lot of time playing Guitar Hero II (ok... so did I) and we spent the later afternoon reading. Tom gave Addison a headlamp which he kept on faithfully because the power kept flickering on and off.

Eric and Addison's Snow Day

Addison was so excited to be back in the snow and there was plenty of it. The only problem was that it was really powdery. The boys had big ideas about building a snowman, but couldn't get the snow to stick together. Instead, they tracked out a little city in the snow and labeled each of their buildings with green colored water from a squirt bottle.
Of course, no snow day would be complete without snow angels.
